Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are an effective alternative to traditional metal braces. Instead of metal brackets and wires, we use a series of clear plastic aligners to gently move your teeth over a period of time.

How do clear aligners work?

First we schedule a consultation where we assess your smile, do an exam, and go over your goals and expectations. Next, we will take a scan (digital impression) of your teeth and that goes directly to the lab, where they will make your aligners. Once your aligners are ready, you will wear them for 7 – 10 days before switching them out for the next pair. Each aligner will gradually and gently move your teeth. Every case is different, treatments can last from 6 months to two years.

Advantages of Clear aligners:

Clear aligners are trimmed along your gumline for optimal comfort and aesthetics. They’re also removable which allows you to maintain your regular dental hygiene habits such as brushing and flossing.

Who is a candidate for Clear aligners?

Clear aligners can treat a wide range of teeth straightening conditions. Aligners can correct gaps, misalignment, crowding or crookedness, slight overbites, underbites and crossbites.

The bigger picture: Straight teeth can offer more than just a pretty smile. Misaligned teeth can lead to bigger problems such as the buildup of bacteria, premature wear, tooth loss, and gum disease. It’s hard to remove plaque and bacteria from misaligned teeth which can lead to inflamed gums, bone loss, and ultimately, tooth loss. Poorly aligned teeth can also put extra stress on the teeth and jaw causing chips and/or fractures. Problems that start in your mouth can spread to the rest of your body and may increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, even lung disease. Properly aligned teeth are beneficial to your oral and overall health.
